Paul Brown who runs Caggys Boatyard in Tipton writes:I know this is short notice but we have been given permission to organise a boat and musical festival in the iconic Brindley Place Birmingham the weekend of the 27th of September. This isn't to only celebrate the anniversary of James Brindley but to raise public awareness of the current plight of our canal network. We are very fortunate to have the backing of the CRT, Brindley place and other major organisations within the canal system. This is a very rare opportunity to have full access to the whole of Birminghams Brindley place and surroundings but it is just not the canals we have got but also Brindley Place have very kindly allowed us to use the central square within Brindley Place for the Artisan market and the music festival we are running in conjunction with the boat festival. If you know Birmingham and Brindley place then you will know that this will be a very busy event with lots going on with a lot of footfall. We are just putting it out there for traders, historic boats, working boats etc so If any of you are interested then please feel free to register your interest with us giving us a description of what you do and either myself, Erica or one of the team will be in touch shortly.Thank you,PaulBrindley boat festival
