Tim started off on narrowboats when some railway friends asked him to come on a hireboat in 1998 (the less said about that the better). For the next 10 years hireboating was an annual holiday before becoming a boat owner in 2009.
Introduced to Historic boats in 2013 when he volunteered to be crew and act as tea boy and galley slave on a trip to Ellesmere Port, the rest of that year was spent around lots of historic boats, gatherings and bars. Following a change of cabin boats in 2014, he was then convinced he needed a project and bought what was left of Small Woolwich Corolla as a "do-er uppa” which went back on the water in 2017. He can occasionally be found at its tiller when not working, motorbiking or driving his classic mini.
