Penny was first introduced to canals when she met her husband Dave, who is a boatbuilder. After a few holidays on hire boats they took the plunge to build their own small Northwich remake Orpheus. In 2015 they decided to move on to Orpheus full time.
Living near to a boat yard full of historic craft, Penny is keen to learn more about the history of canals and the boats it was built for.
Penny and Dave now own the 1934 josher motorboat Dory which is fitted with a 15hp Bolinder hotbulb engine.
