One of two "prototype" narrow boats built by Charles Hill, along with Oak.

Part of a short-lived "Idle Women" scheme working FMC trade in 1943, when it was run as a double motor pair with Willow by Molly Traill and others.

Lived aboard as a houseboat in the 1960s, now in private ownership and being restored

See the entry for Willow for a detailed description of Tree class motors.

Note: Other boats with the same name are Ash (ex Erewash Canal Carrying Company), Ash (ex-Alder of Severn & Canal)
